Jessica and Geoffrey were married this past August overlooking La Jolla Shores at UCSD. You can’t beat a Scripps Seaside Forum wedding! It was an extremely warm day, but it was both exquisite and memorable!
Isn’t Jessica breathtaking? You would have never known that she was a bit on the ill side leading up to the big day.
I just love this image, taken by the team at Trailbrook Photography! As usual, they knocked it out of the park! The lounge furniture and wood walls are a stunning backdrop for Bride and Groom portraits.
There is something so timeless about an all lace-dress. I loved Jessica’s take on a beachy formal option–she was able to move, dance and walk across the sand, all while being comfortable at the same time.
One of the things I love most about this couple is how much in love they are. It was so sweet seeing them leave each meeting, walking with their arms wrapped around each other.
I just love La Jolla Shores! The pier is a really popular place to take photos. I find that people enjoying the beach get a real kick of couples coming down from the Scripps Forum in formal attire.
One of the challenges of the day was lighting. This is one detail that is left up to Mother Nature, so we are so lucky to have some softer light once the ceremony started. The other thing you need are really talented photogs–like Stan and Jeannette!
Jessica and Geoffrey are both extremely hard-working professionals. As the planning process continued, my involvement in the day continued to get bigger. I was really excited when they also asked me to be their florist.
I am very blessed to design a number of events at the Scripps Seaside Forum, and am always excited to try something new! Previously, I’ve draped the back wall and ceiling with sheer fabric to cover the seating upstairs (as the Forum was initially intended for students and lectures). I really liked the drama of the sapphire velvet curtain in lieu of a lighter fabric. It was the perfect touch of drama! My other favorite detail of the evening was the pancake station. It was a HIT! Coast Catering set up a station on the lawn for the latter portion of the evening, and guests loved it.
Jessica and Geoffrey’s guest lists exceeded what typically works well inside the Scripps Seaside Forum. We made sure to have plenty of lighting, heaters and the bar outside to ensure everyone felt involved.
